Dressing a whole family for photos can seem like a daunting task, amiright? I mean, we're a family of 3 and sometimes it's tough to coordinate! For family photos it's great to think about the colors in your home and where you are planning to display your gorgeous images, but also keep in mind how your clothing will look years from now. I know I've got some questionable outfits from the 80s and 90s that I'm kicking myself for wearing!
Keeping your silhouettes classic will minimize how dated your images will look in the future and ensure these portraits will remain timeless. Jeans, sweaters, and button downs or plain tees keep things simple and streamlined and promise to look current for years to come. Mix and match colors throughout the family to keep things cohesive and to avoid looking like a family of pod people, ha!
I find that it's much easier to coordinate an outfit for a family by shopping at one store, in this case J. Crew, but you can definitely mix and match across your favorite shops as long as you stay within your chosen color palette! And I'm always here to help if you need me, I L-O-V-E shopping and styling. <3
